National Estate Planning Awareness Month

Each October, we like to spread awareness about ways that our community members can support us in their estate plans.

It can seem pretty morbid to talk about planned giving, but it’s really not! While many think about planned giving or “legacy giving” as just bequests, there’s so much more to it than leaving a gift in your will. Here are some additional ways you can include Chambliss Center for Children as you build your legacy:

  • Charitable Remainder Trusts

  • IRA/Retirement Plans

  • Life Insurance Donations

  • Donor-Advised Funds

  • Other Trusts

Because these gifts take a lot of consideration and thought, we ask that you speak to a financial planner about planned giving.

If you’ve already chosen to leave Chambliss Center for Children in your estate plans, please let us know so we can include you in the 1872 Society!

Our 1872 Society Members are folks who have already made the decision to continue their legacy through a partnership with Chambliss Center for Children. We are so thankful for these individuals who have chosen to support our organization’s mission in their lifetime and for future generations.

If you’re interested in joining the 1872 Society, our Director of Development, Emily Barrow would love to give you a call to talk about it more.

She can be reached at ESBarrow@chamblisscenter.org or 423.468.1139.

You can also find a list of our current 1872 Society Members, like Lane & Ricky Parks seen below, in our most recent newsletter.

Lane & Ricky Parks

“Making a planned gift was an easy way for Lane and I to help ensure that Chambliss Center for Children can continue responding to Chattanooga's childcare needs long into the future, just as they have done so well since 1872. We are proud to be a part of the 1872 Society.”
