Thank You for Donating!

Every donation helps support the mission of Chambliss Center for Children. The proceeds from our thrift stores provide critical funding for programs that enrich the lives of children, youth, and families in our community.

Before donating, please review the information below to help make the donation process as smooth as possible.

What items do you accept?

We gladly accept donations of:

  • Clothing and shoes for men, women, and children

  • Household décor, lamps, pictures, and linens

  • Kitchen items, including dishes and cookware

  • Large and small appliances

  • Furniture

  • Electronics in working condition

  • Mattresses that are less than 5 years old and in excellent condition

  • Outdoor items, such as patio furniture and flower pots

  • Medical equipment, including walkers, crutches, shower chairs, and potty chairs

  • Baby gear, including car seats, swings, and bouncer chairs

  • Toys

  • Books, CDs, DVDs, and movies

Do you accept baby items?

Yes! We accept many baby items, including swings, bouncer chairs, toys, and other baby gear.

However, for safety reasons, we cannot accept:

  • Baby cribs manufactured before 2011

  • Drop-side cribs

  • Expired car seats

What items can you NOT accept?

For the safety of our customers and staff, we cannot accept:

  • Dirty, stained, faded, moldy, mildewed, rusted, infested, or excessively worn items

  • Items with strong odors or excessive pet hair

  • Unwashed clothing or linens

  • Recalled or unsellable items

  • Appliances or electronics that are broken or missing parts

  • Box-style TVs, console TVs, projection TVs, or computer monitors

  • Car batteries, tires, or automotive parts

  • Sleeper sofas

  • Gas appliances

  • Open or used paint and spray paint

  • Pianos or full-size organs

  • Waterbeds or hospital beds

  • Encyclopedias

  • Building materials (wood, cabinets, sinks, light fixtures, etc.)

  • Executive-sized desks larger than 3 ft. × 3 ft.

  • Food items

Why are some donations turned away?

Our staff carefully inspects every donation to ensure it is safe, clean, and suitable for resale. We may also be unable to accept certain items due to space limitations.

If we're unable to accept an item, we ask that you make other arrangements for its disposal, as we are not able to dispose of unwanted items on your behalf.

Do my donations make a difference?

Absolutely! Every donated item that is sold in our thrift stores helps support the mission of Chambliss Center for Children, providing resources and opportunities that help children, youth, and families thrive.
